First, two art recs: When Draco Met Harry (A Letter From the Jungle) (H/D, G), a comic by red_rahl and Till Death Do Us Part (H/D, H/G (!), R) by an anonymous artist. These are brilliant works of art but completely different from one another: the first is adorable and funny, the second very dark. Both highly worth checking for.
hd_holidays have started, and so far I've enjoyed all the fics. Such a promising start. :) I'd like to rec Savage (H/D, NC-17, WC: 18,700) because it's a rare gem: a creature fic done well. Not to mention the Harry/Draco interaction is hot as hell. An excerpt:
Draco pressed his nose forward, nuzzling the webbing between Potter's fingers, scraping against the rough calluses. He rubbed his cheeks up and down the palm and each finger in turn. Potter let him. The need for more was impossible to ignore. It pulsed through his body with the frantic beat of his heart. He opened his mouth and flat-tongued, he licked Potter's hand -- heel of the palm to tip of the fingers.
Need I say who's the big bad werewolf? ;) |

| 2 x H/D Art Rec |
[Oct. 31st, 2009|06:05 pm] |
Just a quick post to rec two pieces of amazing H/D art. Though they both use several images to tell a story, stylistically they are very different. And yet beautiful, poignant, and artistic in their own right.
The first one is To Separate from Life (H/D, G), and the second is Your Heart's Desire (H/D, PG). Once again it feels a bit silly not to be able to name the artists but since both the artworks are fest contributions, the artists must remain anonymous for the time being. ;) Enjoy! |

| H/D Comic Rec |
[Oct. 8th, 2009|11:53 pm] |
Sometimes it feels like there's no point in reccing a fic or a piece of art because I'm sure everyone and their mother has already seen it. But then comes along something so brilliant that everyone and their mother should see it. Twice. Not forgetting the occasional person who's been living under a rock and has somehow managed to miss it.
I'm naturally talking about the comic masterpiece, Draco's Post-War Prophesy (H/D, R) by so far an anonymous artist (it's funny not to be able to name the artist even though the style is quite unique and recognizeable) at hd_career_fair. The art in question is lovely, sexy, plain hilarious, a bit quirky even and totally awesomesauce. If you've seen it once or twice, go see it again, and this time check out all the small details. Because it really is that worthy. :) |

| So many fics, so little time |
[Dec. 30th, 2008|05:51 pm] |
OMG! I can't believe I've spent more or less five days reading hd_holidays fics and I'm still at skip=40, right where I started!!! I may be a slow reader but even I'm not that slow. The bloody fics just keep coming and coming and every second one is 15K or 25K. The good thing is, there have been several amazing fics so far and even the ones I wouldn't necessarily rec have been more than readable. So, I can't exactly complain now, can I?
The funny thing is, two of my absolute favourites so far have both been about Misuse of Muggle Artifacts. My new OTP (= One True Place) seems to be Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department. :) But anyway, on to the recs.
Misuse of Muggle Artifacts (NC-17, Word Count: 17,000) is a brilliant fic that has it all: delightful misunderstandings, UST, humor, romance, lovely characterization and very hot and satisfying ending. Original, heart-warming and well written. I recommend it highly.
Charmed Wool (NC-17, Word Count: ~12,000), another charmer that comes with a unique setting, hilarious dialogue and some very steamy H/D action. And with sheep. One mustn't forget the sheep.
The art has also been exceptionally good. It shouldn't be any wonder since there's so much talent in fandom but still, every time I see another beautiful piece of art I'm in awe. For the art, I'd like to rec all of it through the art tag. I know it includes all the previous round's art as well but, in this case, more's the better.
And now, off to read some more H/D goodness. ♥ |

| Two recs |
[Aug. 10th, 2008|07:30 pm] |
I've just started to watch Supernatural, and I'm definitely getting the Sam/Dean vibe there (unlike Clark/Lex in Smallville, alas). So, hopefully there'll be some fics to find later on. This time I've got two H/D recs to make, however. One is art, the other one fic, and both of them are hp_wankfest submissions which ended up as Voter's Choices in their respective categories. No wonder.
First there's Peacock Dreams (NC-17) by stellamoon, a gorgeous and very much NWS image of Harry. A link to the same image at stellamoon's LJ.
And then there's who_la_hoop's smoking hot fic How to Handle an Enemy (NC-17) featuring Draco having a wank of his life in front of the one he most desires (guess who). It can also be found here at who_la_hoop's LJ. It's funny and hot and has the most delightful truth or dare setting I've read in ages. And did I already mention it's hot? |

| Art rec |
[Feb. 10th, 2008|10:07 pm] |
I'm still exactly as far behind the holiday fics as I was when posting the last time. *headdesk*
However, it's time for a gorgeous Harry/Draco art rec. It's "Are you awake?" (PG-13) by gold_loewin, a very talented artist. Enjoy! |
